Just recently we took a brief look at 1 Peter 2:9 - "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into HIs marvelous light;" (NASV). What a joy it is to know the immeasurable love of God in wanting a relationship with us, so that we are His own possession! Our faith is not a list of rules, of do's and don'ts. It is a RELATIONSHIP with the living God. Such joy and delight should lend itself to proclaiming His excellencies. So we did just that. We broke into groups for prayer and then each group came up with a list of God's attributes ("excellencies") based on the alphabet. Here is what we came up with. See if you can think of some more.

A - almighty, awesome, all knowing        B - beautiful, bright and morning star, blessed, blameless        C - caring, comforter, chief        D - deity, divine, dependable, door        E - everywhere, eternal, everlasting, excellent        F - faithful, forgiving, Father        G - gracious, great, gentle, good        H - holy, heavenly, honorable        I - I-Am, infinite        J - Just, judge, Jesus, jealous        K - king of kings, kind, keeping        L - longsuffeirng, loving, Lilly of the valley        M - merciful, mighty, majestic        N - never ending, noble, near, never failing        O - omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent        P - perfect, patient, peaceful, powerful        Q - quiet, quick, quickening        R - Redeemer, righteous rich, radiant        S - sinless, sovereign, savior, special        T - trustworthy, triumphant, trustful        U - understanding, unending, useful, upright, unmovable        V - victorious, vine, virtuous, valiant        W - wonderful, wise        X - x-ray eyes (THAT was a tough one!)    Z - zealous
